After removing the stock bumper and associated parts (26lbs), this bumper in steel only adds 65lbs to your Colorado ZR2!\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe profile of this bumper has been designed with maximum ground clearance and approach angles put first. The bumper sits as high and tight to the front of the 2nd generation (2017-2020) Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 as possible, while the angled lower faces will smoothly slide over obstacles and ensure you do not get hung up on the trail. The side wings of this bumper wrap around to the front wheel wells and tie directly into the main frame mounting plates for true offroad protection. These side wings will take a serious hit without flexing or deflecting into the vehicle body. We know that most Colorado and ZR2 owners want to run oversized tires and more aggressive wheel offsets. This can create interference issues with the stock front bumper. We have thought ahead and specifically designed these bumper side wings to easily clear 35\" tires. This bumper uses a total of 15 factory mounting points to solidly mount it to the frame. While this is certainly overkill, it distributes impact and winching forces evenly across your vehicle frame and makes for the stiffest mounting interface of any bumper on the market. This bumper is also available with an optional lower skid plate that provides a smooth surface to slide across trail obstacles and protects your vulnerable engine bay parts. This skid plate is fully CNC-bent into shape and only requires two very small 1\" long welds to complete it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe main section of this bumper is also CNC-bent out of a single piece of  3\/16\" P\u0026amp;O Steel. This greatly reduces the amount of welding and grinding required by you and makes for a cleaner finished product. If you are paying to have the bumper assembled by a welding shop, this significantly lowers the cost.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWe finished this bumper off with a 20\" single row light bar mount, two integrated light buckets for surface mount LED pod lights (custom light cut outs available by request), an integrated winch mount to accept all standard 8-12k lb winches with removable solenoids, and heavy duty 9\/16\" recovery points that are placed directly in line with the Chevrolet Colorado frame to eliminate any leveraging effects. These recovery points are formed by laser cut steel plates that pass through the bumper shell and tie directly into the Chevrolet Colorado frame as part of the bumper's main mounting brackets. The recovery points then get welded to the in and outside of the bumper shell. These factors all combine to form recovery points that minimize stress on your Chevrolet Colorado frame and provide reliable recoveries of heavily loaded vehicles in the worst of offroad situations. The low profile design has resulted in very reasonable weights of 91lbs for the steel bumper and 45lbs for the aluminum version. Considering that this bumper replaces your factory bumper and associated components, the resulting weight increase to your Chevrolet Colorado is surprisingly minimal. In fact, if you look at the last picture on this page, you can see the amount of factory plastic and other parts that get removed. We weighed all of these components and found they added up to a total of 26lbs + 13lbs for the skid plate. This means that our steel bumper only increases your Chevrolet Colorado's weight by 65lbs and our aluminum bumper only increases it by 19lbs!  This reduces added stress on your vehicle, maintains precious payload capacity, and allows you to keep your factory suspension if desired.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDon't want to lose your factory parking sensor system? No problem. This bumper kit can be ordered with CNC-cut ports for each of the 4 factory parking sensors as well as internal routing ports for the factory wiring harness to pass through without any modification or extensions required (Please email us or put a comment in your order notes section to receive this option). Simply pop the sensors into this replacement bumper, route the factory harness through the internal ports, and plug it back into the vehicle. The factory wiring harness is easily removed from the stock bumper and transferred to the Coastal Offroad bumper. This allow you to wire in our LED driving lights and your factory parking sensors right into the Coastal Offroad bumper using the factory wiring harness. Unlike a typical laser cutting table that only cuts flat sheets of steel, this CNC machine can make precise cuts in all sides of a piece of square, rectangular or round tubing. What this means is that you will receive the center section of this bumper  pre-cut with holes and slots for the hitch receiver, parking sensors, recovery points, and all surrounding plates that make up the bumper. This makes for foolproof fitment of each part as they will only fit together in one possible way. This greatly reduces the amount of welding and grinding time required by you and makes for a cleaner finished product. If you are paying to have the bumper assembled by a welding shop, this significantly lowers the cost! We are so excited about this new technology and the possibilities that it has opened up for our DIY bumper kits!\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTo maintain the full towing capacity of the vehicle, we designed this bumper to be fully compatible with the factory hitch receiver. Alternatively, if you prefer to ditch the factory hitch receiver, this bumper comes standard with an integrated hitch receiver that provides even more ground clearance gains. This hitch receiver is incredibly strong and well integrated into the bumper, but just keep in mind that due to the DIY welding aspect of this bumper, we can only recommend it be used for hitch mounted accessories such as bike racks; Or, as a recovery point while offroad.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eUnlike many aftermarket bumpers that are more or less empty shells with minimal reinforcement, this bumper contains extensive internal ribbing and massive CNC-cut mounting brackets that bolt to your Colorado \/ Canyon’s frame using up to 12 mounting points. While this is certainly overkill, it ensures that impact and pulling forces are evenly distributed into your Colorado \/ Canyon’s frame. This means that you the total weight increase to your vehicle is only 20lbs –  negligible at best. Both carriers include mounting brackets for a hilift jack and other recovery items. The dual swing out includes the hilift mount as well as a lockable jerry can holder designed to fit two 20L NATO style jerry cans. These carriers feature heavy duty chromoly heim joint hinges, 2000lb toggle latches, T-handle spring pins, and a replaceable UHMW catch pad that provides secure, rattle free operation. The heim joints in conjunction with the toggle latch provide tons of adjustability, allowing for easy assembly and guaranteed alignment of the carrier latch.
